Vine vs. Youtube

An app called Vine that was made on January 24, 2013 has become very popular. Vine is where anyone who has the app can post six-second videos and anyone can like or comment or revine the video. Some people are becoming well known off the app.

A man by the name of Bart Bordelon gathered up 9 boys that have became very popular and they all became friends. They tour around the United States. Bordelon releases next destination two weeks before they go there. The next stop is Chicago on March 1st and 2nd.

While this is going on, there exists YouTube where people have been growing on there for years and just starting to become big. Some of these YouTubers are going on tour this summer for the first time and seeing places they have never seen.

YouTubers are starting to get angered that these Viners are starting a YouTube channel and getting a million subscribers and only having a few videos up. Also, a few years back when there was no such thing as Vine one of the Viners had a tweet that said they are homophobic and people that saw it got really offended. One YouTuber started to talk to the person that said that and he was gay, so he immediately got offended. It started a big argument between both fandoms and it became chaotic.

Kristen Campbell, Sophomore says, “I think that things got a little out of hand when the others started to jump in a subtweet the other people that were involved. The people in the fandoms were also becoming out of hand and making it a bigger situation bringing up things that were said years ago, come on.. It’s really childish.”

Some YouTubers are really good friends with the Viners and think its way to much to be talking about all the bad stuff about each other. These YouTubers are also friends with the other YouTubers that are getting into all the drama.

Grace Chariya, sophomore says, “I don’t really get onto social media very often but I heard about this from a lot of people talking about it.”
