Urbana Tigers are Ready for Super Bowl XLVIII
This is the 48th annual Super Bowl, and it will be held Feb. 2, 2014, at 5:25 p.m. This Super Bowl will be played at The Met Life Center, an outside stadium in New York City.
A lot of people, including students at Urbana High School, are really looking forward to watching this game because of the high level of play between the two teams.
Besides the actual game, one of the biggest appeals of the Super Bowl is watching the commercials. Companies like Budweiser, Doritos and many other nationally recognized brands often debut very humorous advertisements for this special event.
UHS Junior Victoria Hilsheimer said, “I always watch the Super Bowl, but I never watch the actual football game. I just like to watch the commercials because they are really funny.”
However, for the most part, people watch the Super Bowl to see a high level of play between two great football teams.
Junior Stanley Hutchison said, “The Super Bowl is going to be a great game, and I think the Broncos are going to win it all because of Manning.”
Peyton Manning, the starting quarterback for the Broncos, was the No. 1-rated quarterback in the regular season this year. On the flip side, the Seahawks’ defense was ranked No. 1 for pass defense during the regular season. This shows that this is going to be a very good game between two very good teams.
Junior Isiah Sullivan predicted, “The Seahawks will win this game. The best offense is a good defense.”
However, no one will really be able to know who will win this game until the play clock hits 00:00 and there is no time left in the game, but all we can be sure of is that the Super Bowl will be a tremendous game.
