To take Journalism as a class is a very interesting experience. As soonas you enter the room, you’re pushed right into the flow of things. It feels awkward at first, until you realize the opportunities presented.

Even as a brand new journalist, you’re able to be a pronounced commentator. The first time hearing your own voice over the microphone is a rush. It’s amazing and it feels great.

Sometimes, first time commentators know nothing of what they are talking about, but the other more advanced commentators help keep the newbies afloat. If you don’t really know about the plays and about what’s going on, there are multiple other topics you can mention such as the weather and fun information that listeners might want to hear. Finding interesting topics can sometimes be hard but it’s worth it.

Towards the end of the first time broadcasting experience, you will probably feel very accomplished and proud of yourself for going through with it and sticking it out in times when it got rough.
