Most of us are familiar with the Mexican grill, Chipotle. Chipotle is a restaurant that offers customers a variety of Mexican foods such as, tacos, Bowls, salads, and burritos. There is one located on the University of Illinois campus, right off of Green St.

A new Chipotle has recently opened in Champaign, on Prospect road. Now that there are two, which one will sell more?
The Chipotle in Champaign offers the exact same foods as the one on campus, but the feel is not the same. The Architecture is very different, the walls don’t have the same art and pictures the Chipotle on Green Street has. The Chipotle on Green has a nice feel to it, possibly because the variety of music played is down right glorious. But when you step into the brand new Chipotle, you feel the cold air coming down on you, which is not a pleasant feeling, and the clear walls are not groovy. I recently went to the Chipotle on Prospect and I found it to be very dull. The customer service was very bad, and the workers didn’t seem to be too worried about how long the customers had to wait. They took all the time in the world to serve the food.

Now the Chipotle on Green has been a dominate restaurant on campus. It seems to always be jam packed, and the workers serve the food at blazing speeds. They deliver the goods time after time. The customer service is top notch, the workers treat you with respect and always throw a joke at you every once in a while. Don’t get me wrong; both restaurants have great food, but I’m leaning more to the glorious Chipotle on Green Street.

The big question is, which of the two restaurants will be more successful. We all know the Green Street Chipotle sells by the boat loads, but will the rookie sell more? “I think the new Chipotle is going to sell more, because its located in Champaign, and it’s at a better location…” said junior Spencer Rock.

Sophomore Sebastian Mora said, “The Chipotle on Campus is going to sell more, the students are always eating there and [Chipotle] always seems to be full, and everyone knows its there, so they will just keep going there.”

Sophomore Alejandro Ruiz said, “I really don’t mind going to either one. I’m eating the same thing for the same price.”

Personally I’m going to keep going to the same chipotle I’ve been going to the last two years, the one on campus. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and they will go to whatever one they want to. But at the end of the day, you’ll still be eating that same burrito you know and love.
