UHS Students’ Music Tastes Vary Greatly
Well, the question has been asked yet again. What music is everyone into? Opinions on this topic were received by text messaging, Facebook, and surveys. The results were very diverse and different, here they are.
The first question the survey asked them was what kind of music they like. Some of the answers it got were very different from one another. It got answers like Rap, Country, Christian, Pop, Juanes, and even Bachata!
Freshman Raine Craig said, “I really like Pop/Rock music, especially the lyrics”. This really shows you how many different answers people responded with.
The second question the survey asked was who their favorite artist is. It got answers like Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Prince Royce, Ke$ha, J Cole, and many more. Some people said they didn’t know what artist they liked. As you may know, it’s sometimes hard to make our minds up about music.
Sophomore Ben Ross said, “I guess my favorite music artist is Tupac, he really talks about my life in a way I understand.”Lyrics seem to really be important to Urbana High School students.
The last question the survey asked was what they thought made a good song, or at least a “listen-worthy” song.
Freshman Antonia-Min Berenbaum said, “Well, I believe that in order to be a good song, it MUST have a good beat. That’s what catches the listener’s attention after all.”
In conclusion, UHS students seem to really like music. UHS seems to really be an open hearted, respectable, and a very diverse high school.
