The Christina Aguilera National Anthem Debate
February 6th, 2011 was a big day for football fans. On that day the super bowl was played and the Packers came out victorious. Also, on that day as a tradition, a lucky singer gets to sing the American anthem in front of millions of viewers.
This year Christina Aguilera was the lucky one, but not as lucky due to missing two lines of the song, and “Screaming totally loud” says Freshman Chang-Hee. Chang-Hee also said that he wishes Christina would have kept her own style out of the song.
The lines Christina happened to miss were “O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming.” She also went back to the second line of the first verse after missing the she messed up on.
“It was terrible, even from the start” says Freshman Reanna Bear-Brister.
“Christina happens to be one of those people that show us that no human is perfect when singing” says Freshman Ashley Elzey.
Also, during the 53rd Grammy Awards a performance, Christina Aguilera was one of the people to give a performance, but unfortunately tripped during on her way down the stage. It was more of a comedy because she came back out saying on Lopez Tonight, hosted by George Lopez, “well, that was a sexy ending.”
