Top 5 Spring(ish) Locations

As the weather begins to warm up and give everyone a bit of hope to see the sun, let’s look at some local locations to visit during this spring of deception before we plunge back into our last weeks of winter that I’m sure aren’t too far away!

Crystal Lake: Even though the park is a staple in our community, they’ve opened up paddle boarding and canoeing in recent years. So while the weather is warm, grab a life vest and run to the water. Don’t walk!

Meadowbrook Park: Despite its recent updates and changes, Meadowbrook is still a perfect spot for flying a kite, going for a run, or enjoying a leisurely walk down the guided path and enjoying the scenery.

Virginia Theatre or AMC Theater: Nothing to put you in the false spring spirit like catching a late afternoon movie or play. By the time it’s, it’ll be a nice cool evening time to set you up for a lovely dinner out.

Urbana Indoor Aquatic Center: When decent weather comes into the mix, swimming is always one of the first things on plenty of peoples’ minds. However, we aren’t at hell’s door gate yet as far as weather (also known as summer). Indoor swimming is the best way to balance out your need for sun with the warmish weather.

MarketPlace Mall: Shopping can take place in any weather, but everyone knows that warm weather brings out the inner fashionista in us all. So get out there after that next check hits and don’t be scared to buy some skirts, tshirts, shorts, the works. Go nuts.

Even though we’re still in the homestretch of winter, I’m sure spring will be right behind it and ready to blindsight us all. From the pouring rain to the sunshine and kite flying.
