One last celebration before graduation

With the final days of high school coming to a quick close, the countdown of senior activities began.

Now that the Senior trip is over, the next big event before graduation is the Senior picnic, scheduled to happen on May 20th at Crystal Lake Park.

“We will host a senior picnic to celebrate your last activity before graduation ,” said counselor and picnic organizer Tamelyn Motley in an email to senior students.

Senior students like Amiyah Puryear, who graduated in December, are excited to see their friends one last time before graduation.

“I was excited about going to the picnic,” said Puryear. “I’m excited and ready to see everyone and to hear about what’s next for them!”

The picnic is not just for seniors, either, as staff members are also invited to come and say goodbye!

For Essence Earvin, hanging out with staff and friends together is what makes the event even more special.

“I love being around all people that I know. My friends and I are close to the counselors and when we’re all together, it’s like one happy family. The picnic is one last time to hang out with everybody before we walk the stage,” she said.

The Senior Picnic will be held at Crystal Lake Park Pavillion between 11am and 2pm. We hope to see you there, and congrats to the graduating seniors of 2024!
