Embracing Summer: The Joys of Vacation
Summer is a season with freedom, adventure, and relaxation. As the days grow longer and the temperatures rise, people of all ages eagerly anticipate the chance to break free from their routines and embrace the feel of the season.
Something that happens in summer is carnivals or fairs!
“It’s a very fun place,” freshman Hayden Little of the Illinois State Fair. “The fair is fun. The rides are pretty at night. Rides like the one with the boat give me thrills and food like funnel cake and lemonade just fill me up!”
For many, the beach is the ultimate summer destination, offering endless fun in the sun, surf, and sand.
Freshman Samiia Clanton says that ”the beach is a very fun place! It’s very beautiful to look at the beautiful scenery. I find it relaxing and calming just walking around the beach with a piece of fruit and a ice cold soda looking around on the view like the birds flying and the waves crashing. I get an even better feeling when I feel the cool air on my skin and the warm sand on my toes.”
Junior Paul Danley will also be spending his summer outdoors.
“I will be going camping and fishing in Michigan. There are a lot of good camping spots near the Great Lakes and some really great makeshift beaches. It’s outdoors and gets you away from people. Camping is perfect for summer: refreshing and good for the mind,” said he said.
While most people visit different states, some people visit different countries!
Freshman Keylieanna Archie says that she is “going to Panama with a non-profit organization to visit different colleges.”
Daphne Nance is also leaving for an exotic location, taking the vacation of a lifetime” to the Bahamas, which should “be the most fun thing that I will ever experience in my life!”
As we look forward to the months ahead, let’s remember to cherish each moment and make the most of our summer vacations.
Here’s to sunny days, warm nights, and unforgettable experiences!
