What is your lucky charm?
It’s March! The month where we experience the final stages of winter and move closer to the warmer weather and most aesthetic season of the year! March also means to rise of the color green, when McDonald’s brings back a delicious and minty treat for a good month.
I’m talking about St. Patty’s Day, known for rainbows, pots of gold, and of course, good luck!
Good luck charms are believed to hold positive energy that bring good fortune, protection and success to those in possession of the item. It is different for everyone.
But the true question we have is, what lucky charms do the students at UHS have?
Well, freshman Ana Alvarez-Wyman has the answer! She wears a ring with a flower on her right hand’s middle finger to bring her luck in any situation.
Sophomore D’Nyla McGhee also has a charm that is the most unique!
“My good luck charm is a paper star I made a long time ago, and I use it every time I go to competitions,” she said.
But not all lucky things have to be objects!
Sophomore Natalie Pociask’s lucky task is listening to music before dance performances.
She says, “the ritual of doing stage hair and makeup really helps me get into the mood.”
For sophomore basketball player Mia Schroeder, it’s a specific hairstyle that brings her luck.
“I feel like I play better when I have a good slickback,” she said
When you find your lucky charm, you’ll know. Some have found it and some are still looking. If you haven’t yet found it, you will one day!
