School air: What’s the issue?
School air is a phenomenon we have all experienced at one time or another.
You wake up and ready yourself for school. One last check in the mirror confirms you look great as always!
And yet, the moment you step into the school building you instantly become greasy. Your makeup melts off, your hair is flat, and the outfit that took 30 minutes to pick out last night is somehow the ugliest thing you’ve ever seen.
You aren’t alone! Many students across the school and country suffer at the hands of school air.
“When I wake up in the morning, I’m feeling good. I’m moisturized, my hair is clean and good. When I get to school everything goes backward,” laments senior Celia Barkley.
She’s not alone. Senior Reuben Birdwell describes how walking into school makes him feel “grimy as if I’m walking through a fog of hot breath.”
School air doesn’t just impact your looks, it can also change how you’re feeling.
“The second I walk in school, my mood turns negative and I can kinda tell it affects other people,” said junior Zanyra Bramley.
Though there is yet to be a scientific explanation for the school air phenomenon, one thing is for certain, the vibes are off.
