“I came up with the name because I do magic with my hands to bring happiness to anyone that comes to look for something especially and unique,” said Ramos-Rivera.

And with her amazing ideas, “Magic Shop 93” was born!

But what inspired Ramos to open Magic Shop 93?

2020 was the height of the pandemic and it was also Ramos-Rivera’s freshman year of high school. Like any high schooler, she started thinking about ways to prepare for life after high school, specifically college life.

“I had just turned 15 that summer and I was trying to find a way to make money to save for college. I started doing research about different things I can sell and I like doing crafts and jewelry, so that’s how my business came to life,” she said.

Magic Shop 93 has produced many different products, including beautiful water bottles, key chains, bracelets, and resin bookmarks.

In Ramos-Rivera’s future, she does not plan to open a physical store in Champaign- Urbana, but she does plan to open more of an online store in the future.
