Who’s behind Urbana Barstool?

After a heated game against the Danville Vikings, the Urbana Tigers Barstool Instagram sparked up interest in who runs the account.

We talked to the account anonymously to dig a little deeper on how it all got started.

The Urbana Barstool started up a year ago to one up the other schools, “Barstools amongst schools were gaining publicity and popularity and we knew we had to join the wave and do whatever it takes to become the best page.”

With the “Almost Friday” posts and the clapbacks to the competing schools, they have gained a large following, but no one really knows who’s behind it.

According to the account, “There was no real selection on who would own the account. A group of us just got together and decided we needed a page to document our Urbana sports team activities.”
