Small Business Spotlight : Mery Rebolledo

Not every small hobby turns into a breakthrough of a business, but for senior America (Mery) Rebolledo it became a successful small business based on her passion for art and creating amazing portraits.

Rebolledo started her small business in 2020 during the COVID Pandemic. “I started it in 2020 amongst the pandemic, I had a lot of free time on my hands,” said Rebolledo.

After some help from her family and peers she was able to get Simply Made By Mery off the ground.

“My mom’s friend actually mentioned the idea of starting an art business. I started practicing, and it all evolved from there,” said Rebolledo.

But getting started was a new challenge.

“A challenge I have faced when opening my business is marketing and creating content for my brand. This process definitely involves a learning curve and it’s not something a lot of other brands talk about,” she said.

After all the challenges she has faced with opening her business, Rebolledo has big dreams for her business´ future.

“I would love to open a store, however there are other things within my business that I think I should work on first. I hope opening up a store or warehouse is not too far into the future,” said Rebolledo .
