Looking Back: Favorite moments of the year

As the school year comes to a close, UHS has many memories to share! From extra curricular events to P.E class, 2023 was a year to remember.

“The first semester APUSH field trip and second semester APES field trips” were his favorite parts of the year. “On both we basically hiked all day and I felt like it helped people to bond and brought people closer together,” said junior Parker Schroeder.

Sophomore MiLiyah Jackson was new to Urbana and enjoyed meeting new people “and really getting in tune with Urbana.”

Special events like the talent show were a huge hit for Urbana students. Talent show participant Oscar Zavala says the Mexican Folk Dance was, “something special” and was happy he got to try new things.

Team spirit is what Junior Cassandra Alvarado is going to look back on with a fond thought. She says, “my favorite memory was having pasta parties with my teammates.”

Grace Coady’s favorite memory was on the field with her teammates when “we won the game versus Central at the Illinois women’s soccer field because it was electric. There were so many fans!”

That electric energy is what every one of us is going to remember about the 2022-2023 school year.
