Consider Executive Internship for 2023

Class registration is fast approaching, and with that in mind, all juniors should be thinking about signing up for Executive Internship for their senior year! Executive Internship gives everyone an opportunity to explore possible careers before choosing a major.

“It helps you narrow down your options. I would totally recommend it because it also gives you a bit of a glimpse into college because you’re kind of on your own since it’s not a full ‘meet everyday’ kind of class,” said senior Halie Thompson.

Not only do the interns get to take a step into their future careers, they earn other advantages.

“You learn how to be professional. I think that helps you a lot in the world,” said senior Brooklyn Smith.

Alistair Forsyth agrees. “For me specifically [Executive Internship] is extraordinarily helpful. It’s a big career booster, big resume booster, big application booster.”

Even those who may be unsure about how they want to proceed in life after high school can still use this class as a way to help them decide.

“[It is a] really good experience for people if they are unsure about what they want to do,” said senior Makayla Dockins.

It could also reinforce for seniors that they are going to college for the career that fits them best.

“I learned that I really like the field of social work and that I really like working with people who are trying to help the community,” added Dockins.

“I saw in the Executive Internship program kind of an opportunity that’s untapped by a lot of people. I feel like this school has a lot of little opportunities that people undervalue, thus don’t take. And so something that I do is take a lot of those opportunities…and it ended up working out for me” said Forsyth.
