Mask policy update: UHS moves to masks recommended
During Tuesday’s (March 29th) Board of Education meeting, the district revisited our current policy on face masks for students and staff. Starting on Monday, April 4th, USD116 will be transitioning into masks being recommended instead of being required.
The board made the decision to approve the administration’s recommendation to change the policy regarding face masks. What did not change is the board’s policy on asking poeple about their choice.
In an email to staff Katherine Tellez wrote that “In no situation shall a student or USD staff member question another student or staff member about their decision to wear a mask.”
