Paralympic Oscar Pistorious Sentenced to 5 Years
Paralympic, South African runner Oscar Pistorious was sentenced to 5 years of prison this week.
On February 14, 2013, Pistorious, also known as the “Blade Runner”, shot and killed his then girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. He claimed he thought she was an intruder and shot her through his bathroom door.
On October 21st, Pistorious was sentence to a maximum of 5 years due to culpable homicide, better known in the United States as Manslaughter, or killing without murderous intent. He was also convicted on several various gun charges.
However if Pistorious serves 10 months with good behavior, he could then serve the remaining time on House Arrest.
