New LA Style Nightclub opens in Savoy

Look out Urbana High School, a brand new, Los Angeles-inspired Nightclub is opening up on October 18th in Savoy. This nightclub is called Breathe.

Breathe is operated out of the Christine Rich Dance Studio. The official address 1402 Regency Drive West in Savoy, IL 61874. This studio, operated by Christine Rich, is a full time dance studio that teaches all kinds of dance classes for all ages.

However, this is not a dance studio on Saturday nights. They take down the removable walls, and after some hard work, it gets transferred into the newest activity for teenagers in the Champaign-Urbana area.

Breathe will be open every Saturday starting on the 18th. It will run from 8:00 to 11:00 every night it is open. As of now it is only for ages 14-18, but after they gain a reliable fan base and reputation they will start having “theme nights” and have nights specifically for 21 years and up.

To get in the door it is $20 with a valid ID, however it is possible to get a discount. There are people that are employed by Breathe who are called promoters. Their job is to help get people in the door. If you talk to one of these promoters, they can get your name on the guest list. When your name is on the guest list, then you get a 5-dollar discount.

There is also a VIP section for Breathe, but they put their own twist on it. For $60, customers can purchase a bed for the night and have a place to sit and watch the various performances. They came up with this idea because they don’t have seats in the club. So the beds can play a pretty pivotal role in keeping off of your feet. Also, beds are $60 just per bed. Multiple people can split the cost of one bed and they can each sit on the bed. This makes it much more cost-efficient.

The rules for Breathe are pretty simple: dress nice, behave yourself, and have fun! However, they do not tolerate any sort of drugs or underage drinking of any kind. There will be refreshments at the club but there will exclusively be non-alcoholic.

Breathe has been connecting with people via Twitter to start building their social reputation. They are also in contact with many local people to perform their various talents at the club. They have been in contact with local rapper from Champaign that goes by the stage name Wakefield.

People in Urbana have also been talking about this new, trendsetting club.

Senior Nick Romito expressed interest in this new Nightclub. Romito said, “I feel like this could be a fun place to visit on the weekends.”

One thing is for sure: it will be a very interesting place to be at and everyone should attend their opening night!
