Senior Year Begins: A Reflection on Lessons Learned
One lesson learned by current senior Kyle Hauersperger was, “I learned not to blow off your classes, and not to mess around during your classes.”
When making new friends, it can be so hard but it can be the best thing you’ve ever done. You can become so close and you can also lose friends within an instant. High school can literally be the best time in life that you’ll ever experience.
“Three words I would say that describe high school are fun, educational and life,” said Senior Matthew Stampley.
High school is also the time in life when you can make the biggest mistakes in your life, and also the time where to figure out where to go to college and what you want to major and minor in.
“My biggest accomplishment was becoming a starter on the varsity football team my sophomore year, and recording 93 tackles in that season,” said Senior Cedrick Fry.
Many seniors have been asked what their plans are after school, and they all say that they are going to graduate a semester early. But not every single one is planning to do that. Also, they plan to either work a semester or just go to Parkland for that semester as well.
“The event that I believe I will remember the most is homecoming spirit week. I love how the classes come together to support the school,” said Senior Colin Staske.
This can also be the time where you make your biggest mistakes and try to learn from them as well. Whether it be keeping up on grades, or even just family issues. Many people have so many different mistakes.
Senior Chase Chenoweth said, “Always watch your back because you never know what will get thrown at you.”
High school is the most impacting time of your life, you either make it or break it and seniors at UHS are making the best of it!
