Rams Injured Quarterback
The Rams were playing the Cleveland Browns during the third week of the preseason. Bradford tore his left ACL during the game when he took a hit. He was able to walk off of the field but an MRI later confirmed the injury and that he would miss the entire season.
The magnitude of this injury is incredible, not only for the Rams’s season but for Bradford’s career as well. This is the second time in two years that Bradford has had this very serious injury. The exact same one to the exact same knee.
Last year, Bradford was on pace for his best season ever as a NFL Quarterback. Bradford had 14 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions through seven games until he got injured and was forced to miss the rest of his season.
Getting this injury once is very harmful to your career and it is very hard to recover from, but twice is extremely hard. The ACL is such a pivotal part of your body for playing football, it used every play of the game.
The Rams are also very concerned for their season. Bradford was their starting Quarterback that they had invested multiple years in. Now they have to go to their back-up veteran, Shaun Hill. While Hill is a very reliable player, he is a back up for a reason.
Many speculate that the Rams will try to trade for another Quarterback, probably Mark Sanchez, of the Eagles, or Christian Ponder, of the Vikings.
Football fans at UHS are also talking about this injury, some in a negative way.
Senior, and longtime Rams fan, Jacob Heinricher said, “This is probably going really off year for us.”
Heinricher later went on to say, “We will end up being one of the worst teams this year but we will get get a high draft pick.”
At least Heinricher is looking on the positive side.
For many Rams fans, that is the case. And for all of us here at the Echo, we wish Bradford a speedy recovery.
