Journalist Kyara Smith Speaks: VMAs Worst and Best Dressed
September is the start of the new fashion year and the VMA’s displayed that this year on August 24,2014. They had many of the new fashion trends come out on the red carpet and on stage. Some were good and some were bad. Below, The Echo of Urbana High school has a list of their opinion on best dressed and worst dressed.
Best Dressed on Red Carpet
Jennifer Lopez – She had her hair straight laying down and she was wearing a silver glitter fitted dress with a split on the side. Her dress was timeless and it made her look very young. When asked who they thought the best dressed was, Former Student Jordan Smith said, “Jennifer Lopez because she bad and her dress was elegant and beautiful.”
Demi Lovato- her red dress was classic and timeless and she had just enough skin showing with this classic look.
Nicki Minaj- Her dress was short but very presentable and very modest in comparison to her other looks.
Worst Dressed on Red Carpet
Taylor Swift- Her shorts suit was blue with a pattern. It was too revealing and not flattering to her body at all.
Kim Kardasian- She had an earthy dress made of fall colors her outfit was not a red carpet look.
Amber Rose- She had an chain linked dress that revealed to much skin. It was short and see through and not classy for the red carpet.
Best Dressed on Stage
Iggy Azalea- She had an classic black body suit with studs on it and her hair with slick back with an appropriate amount of skin showing.
Aiana Grande- She had an black and white classic body suit that was very flattering on her.
Jessie J- She had a dress that was good for her show and performance as a whole.
Worst Dressed on Stage
Nicki Minaj- she had an short green suit that showed too much of her body for her performance of “Anaconda”. She also experienced a wardrobe malfunction during one of her performances.
Beyonce-she had an sliver body suit that was to revealing and it did not flatter her body at all “Her design was ugly and the structure.” Lasienna Burton
This year at the VMAs of 2014 new fashion trends came out. This people that got the titles of being best dressed were chosen by myself as a fashion blogger. Some were good some were bad. The VMAs is at the time of the year were all the new fashion trends come out, so the people that walk the red carpet have the honor to start the new trends.
