Donald Sterling Banned from the NBA
Because of his racial comments, Donald Sterling is now banned for life from the NBA, fined for 2.5 million dollars. The current Clippers owner was taped by his girlfriend making comments about not wanting her to associate with black people.
He is also, reportedly, probably going to be forced to sell his share.
The decision was announced on Tuesday, during a press conference, with the NBA commissioner. Many people have said they want Sterling to sell and it only takes a ¾ vote for him to be forced to sell.
This wasn’t the first time Sterling has been charged with discriminating by race. There were incidents involving ownership of houses and he was discriminating against blacks, and Hispanics. The fine will go to an Anti-Discrimination Organization that was chosen by the players.
