School Shootings
The most recent school shooting was by a 14 year old boy, named Thomas Hamilton who killed 16 children, one teacher and then wounded 10 others. He then preceded to commit suicide. No one knows why it happened.
More school shootings started appearing all over the world and in the end of every one the shooter tends to commit suicide. After the whole thing happens, everyone asks why? Why this school? Why my kids? Why my teacher? Why did they do this? What caused it? To this day, all of those questions have not been answered. There are no answers on why it happened to their little babies, or why it happened to their loved one.
From my research, changed in society and the perceptions of youth are playing a role. I see that the way society is people think as if they are below everyone in some type of way. They want to be like everyone else who gets called on in class, or is on TV. They see that as if it “normal” and what they are is just someone is there and they don’t get the “attention” that they want. From other research I’ve done. I’ve also seen that they way they get noticed is by calling out or doing things like school shootings.
Even if they are in the spotlight for a week or so. Possibly even break several families’ heart. Whether they are dead or not, they wanted to be noticed and they always felt like an outcast. Even though that is the attention no one should ever want, that is the only way they feel they can get people to notice them.
Recently, on Monday February 3rd, there was a school shooting in Russia and only a small amount information was reported on who the student was. The boy was 14. He went in the school and shot a security guard and a teacher. No one else was harmed. Surprising, the student did not kill himself afterwords. Yes, that is a harsh way to put it,but more than 90% of the shooters kill themselves after the incident so they don’t have to live through that misery.
Many know about the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting because it was on CNN for a whole week straight. Ever since that shooting, there have been a total of 10 more school shootings since that.
To this day, no one will get the answers they want. It will always hurt, but there loved ones will never be forgotten.
