Band Mumford and Sons Takes Break
After their show on Sept. 21, Mumford and Sons announced they would be going on an indefinite hiatus. This will be first time the band has had any time off since 2009.
Keyboardist Ben Lovett described the final days of the tour as bittersweet when he was interviewed by NBC News, saying, “It feels like the last week of school right now, before school holiday when you’re in high school. The atmosphere on the road is one of … I think everyone’s excited about being free of schedules.”
Mumford and Sons have been hitting the road hard this time out on tour. In June of their last tour, they had to cancel three shows because doctors found a blood clot on bassist Ted Dwane’s brain. Thankfully, his surgery went well and he is back on his feet now.
Fans’ reaction to the news is very mixed. Some are devastated by the hiatus, while others are happy it happened.
One Twitter user, @adamantpoetry, is happy about the news, saying, “Mumford and Sons go on hiatus. What a great morning already! :)”
There are some fans who don’t seem to know what they are going to do with their lives without their favorite band, while others are quite indifferent.
