Parkland Softball Coach Chuck Clutts: Profile
The man who leads the Cobras Softball team is 52-year-old Chuck Clutts. Chuck Clutts is the head coach for the girls’ softball team at parkland. Clutts has been the head coach since 2000. He was also the Centennial Coach for seven seasons. Chuck Clutts had led the girls’ softball team to five conference titles and six regional titles. They have been runner-up 3 times for the NJCAA finals. In 2012, the lady Cobras had a 42-18 season and had their 8th trip to the NJCAA Nationals Tournament and finished 2nd place.
Chuck Clutts has been NJCAA D-11’s Region 24 Coach of the year six years in a row. He and his coaching staff have also been the coaching staff on the year at the NJCAA Regional. The Parkland softball program while Chuck Clutts was the Head Coach; they have had ten players become NJCAA – All Americans. When recruiting his players Clutts picks from everywhere. Coaches don’t look for people who just play one position except when it comes to pitchers and catchers, but most coaches want a player who is a utility player: willing and able to learn the other positions and that’s what Chuck Clutts does.
The Cobras Softball Team broke the school record with 60 wins in one season, which was in 2003. Also, has had nothing less than 30 wins each season. They have won 500 games in all the seasons combined that Clutts has been the head coach.
With his numbers Chuck Clutts can turn a team into a winning one. And even with a loss players can say they still had fun while playing.
