The Demise of Kobe Bryant
The “Black Mamba” Kobe Bryant tore his Achilles tendon against the Golden State Warriors; he is expected to miss 6 to 9 months. The Lakers will have to make do without their star player. The question now is: How far can Dwight Howard and Steve Nash take them into the playoffs?
Kobe had a successful surgery on April 14. The 34-year-old plans to come back.
Assistant principal Michael Gourley said, “He will definitely come back, he won’t want to go out like that. He wants to be as close to Jordan as possible.”
But the Laker’s critics say they won’t even make it out of the first round of the playoffs.
Take into consideration that Dwight Howard took the Orlando Magic to the finals in 2009, but, ironically, they lost to the Lakers. In my opinion, they are going to go deep in the playoffs because they have an all-star center with a great point guard and a good supporting cast, with players such as Antawn Jamison.
Lakers fanatic and UHS freshman Felix Godia said, “The Lakers are winning it all because they are a great team, and also Kobe will come back from the injury.”
The “Black Mamba” recently created a Twitter account, and he has posted multiple pictures of himself in the hospital. He also went on an emotional Facebook rant a few hours after his season-ending injury, and he vowed he was coming back. Bryant has never broken his word when it comes to basketball, so I have full faith in him that he will come back stronger and faster than ever.
I thought this article was really groovy. You quote integration is excellent, and makes me want more. I can really understand Kobe ‘s pain. Your piece was really sensitive, and I had a good cry afterwords.
I feel really bad for Kobe even though I’ve never been a fan. I’m glad that he will be coming back because although I feel like he’s really cocky at times, no one should have to end their career like that. I wouldn’t want that for my favorite athlete so no one else should have to go through it either.
This article was very well written. I havent been paying attention at all to the NBA so this was shoking to me. I really hope Kobe will be better when he comes back. i really want him to win a champioship one more time. Youre great at writing sports article and keep it up!
