Super Bowl XLVII
This will be the first Super Bowl in history in which both head coaches are brothers: John Harbaugh for the Ravens and Jim Harbaugh for the 49ers.
Since this is Ray Lewis’s last season playing in the NFL, the Ravens are going to give it their all to try to get the ring for the legendary linebacker.
The Super Bowl brings the NFL big bucks. If all of the seats are sold in the Super Dome, a whooping $150 million will be earned. In addition, over $100 million will be made from commercials.
Each player will receive $88,000 if they win the game. The losing players will receive half that amount. The teams both have a lot on the line, and a big reason to give the game their all.
UHS Athletic Director Mr. Greg Hall said, “I’m rooting for the 49ers to win because Jim Harbaugh was part of the Chicago Bears and that’s my favorite team, and also I grew up watching him play for Michigan University.”
I, on the other hand, want the Ravens to win because I am a big fan of Ray Rice and of his playing style.
Matt Birk, a veteran center for the Ravens, said the game should be a “blood bath” because of the fierce playing style that both teams have. The 49ers have a good offense, with Quarterback Colin Kaepernick and Receiver Michael Crabtree.
However, the Ravens defense is one of the best in the league and, as they say, “defense wins games.” The Ravens have also improved tremendously in the last few years on the offensive end, with Joe Flacco, quarterback, and Ray Rice, running back. The Ravens also have help from Anquan Boldin, a veteran receiver.
Now we wait until Sunday, Feb. 3 to see who comes out on top and gets the coveted Super Bowl trophy.
