NFL Update
The NFL is well under way and this year’s rookie class has been phenomenal. I think many can agree that the second overall pick in the draft is Robert Griffin 3. He has thrown for 2,497 yards, 16 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions. His current quarterback rating is 104.6.
Griffin has out played Andrew Luck, the 1st overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft. Luck has thrown 13 touchdowns, but has also thrown 13 interceptions. He has thrown for 3,205 yards, which is slightly better than Griffin.
Robert Griffin III more commonly known as rg3 from Okinawa, Japan. Griffin attended Baylor university, located in Waco, Texas, while he won the Heisman trophy, which is an award given to the best college football player. RG3 was amazing that season. He threw for 4,293 yards, 37 touchdowns and rushed for almost 700 yards. He scored also 10 rushing touchdowns. His 2011 season was certainly his best and will go down as one of the best seasons a quarterback has ever had in NCAA.
Griffin went on to pursuit his passion to enter the NFL draft. He was selected second overall in the draft by the Washington Redskins.
Griffin has brought his A-game to the nations capital. He is playing so good that he is in the MVP race with the likes of Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers. You have to also notice that Griffin doesn’t have pro bowl caliber receivers. His best receiver is 33 year-old Santana Moss! He is also the team’s second leading rusher with 642 yards.
RG3 has a lot on his plate but he is more than capable to lead his team into the playoffs and contend for a chance to go to the Super Bowl. The Redskins still have a lot of tough challenges ahead of them, but they have RG3 and are in it for the long run.
However, Griffin isn’t the only one that has made the team better. Mike Shanahan, the head coach for the Redskins, has improved the team’s offensive and defensive mentality by providing great coaching.
“I would rather have Robert Griffin III because he is more versatile than Luck and he seems like a friendlier person,” said freshman Felix Godia.
Griffin is a rookie sensation in the entire nation; even people that aren’t Redskins fans love him. He just has a spark that no other player in the league has, but lets just see if he can keep this up next year. I don’t want him to end up like Cam Newton. RG3 has brought hope back to the city, and the Skins fan can shout now, “All hail to the Redskins!” again.
