BCS Championship
The college football regular season has come to an end, which means that Bowl games such as the exciting Rose Bowl and Fiesta Bowl will be happening. Highly anticipated bowl fans across the U.S will surely tune in. The BCS championship bowl which will include Notre Dame also known as “The fighting Irish,” along with the winner of the “Crimson Tide” of Alabama.
The fighting Irish had a perfect season going 12-0, and have come back looking to win a Championship after many dormant seasons. With the support of fans like Urbana High School Sophomore Bethany Peppers, who says a win for the Fighting Irish will give Notre Dame a “good feeling,” and “confidence,” the Irish will be ready to go come game day.
For the “Fighting Irish,” Quarterback Everett Golson, running back Cierre Wood, and Linebacker Manti Te’o are looking to lead their team through the hard battle. Manti Te’o, who by the way is also candidate for the most outstanding player in college football also known as the Heisman award, has become a college football sensation and the face of the “Fighting Irish.”
The Crimson Tide, who are viewed as being the favorites are Lead by Quarterback A.J. McCarron, Running backs Eddie Lacy and T.J. Yeldon, and receiver Kenny Bell, the tide are looking for another BCS championship for a second year straight.
UHS Sophomore, Marcus Tate says that the Fighting Irish have had an outstanding team this year, but they will not overcome the Mighty Crimson Tide. He adds that the Tide have an “arsenal of offensive weapons that can unstoppable if teams don’t learn to stop them.”
