BlackBerry Messages Not Received
BlackBerry internationally apologized through a You-Tube video October 13, 2011. Mike Lazaridis, the founder of BlackBerry’s parent company, Research In Motion (RIM), internationally apologized this morning over a You-Tube broadcast.
“Since launching BlackBerry in 1999, it’s been my goal to provide reliable, real-time communications around the world. We did not deliver on that goal this week. Not even close,” he said. “I apologize for the service outages this week. We’ve let many of you down.”
BlackBerry users were extremely frustrated with the dilemma faced earlier this week. Junior Jared Broom said “I don’t think it would have that much of an affect on me, as I don’t really text a whole lot.”
In contrast, Freshman DJ Chipman said that “It would be really irritating and an inconvenience if I couldn’t contact my friends through texts.”
Emails are a vital part of some people’s lives, and they depend on their BlackBerrys like the PDA is their life. Although the problem has been resolved, there are many issues that have been left for RIM to deal with and regain trust from users.
Some of these issues include questioning as to RIM’s reliability and a possible cost of a maximum $350 million to pay for one month of subscriber fees.
In an online poll, it was found that 36 percent of BlackBerry users thought this problem was not a huge deal, 38 percent were on the fence about it, and the remaining 26 percent thought this mishap was completely unacceptable.
I really like this article.. I have a couple of friends & family members with BlackBerry’s & we were wondering why their messages didn’t send. I was having a similar problem with my phone (an Android) & it was so frustrating. \:
