Monday, May 3, 2011, the National Basketball Association announced this year’s Most Valuable Player award.
It has been a very long time since a point guard has been top five in the NBA in points and assist per game. Twenty- five points and nearly eight assists per game, Derrick Rose won the award with no problem.
No problem? Yes, the voting points from the winner to runner-up were no problem! Derrick Rose 1,182 points. Dwight Howard, 643 points.
At the age of 22, Rose is the youngest player in NBA history to win MVP (Wes Unseld had the title at age 23). Fans and MVP candidates would agree that he deserves this award. Not only did he place phenomenal individual numbers, he leads the number one team in the NBA with a record of 62-20, the Chicago Bulls.
