UHS’ Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Every Wednesday, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes meets from about 7:00 to 7:30 am.
You don’t just have to be a Christian to join the group, or even an athlete. Ms. Bond and Mr. Reif are the sponsors. Ms. Bond loves being one of the sponsors of FCA. “I love sports, especially basketball. Also, above all else, I am a Christian; so it’s really great being a sponsor of FCA,” she said.
The purpose of FCA is to combine people’s passion for sports with their passion for Christ, and teach them that those two worlds don’t have to be separate. “FCA gets me in a good mood because we do a bible study and I get to hang out with other athletes,” said Junior Molly Dragoo.
The meeting consists of a short Bible lesson and breakfast. So far this year the group has done a service project where members picked up trash around the school. The group’s next focus it to get FCA t-shirts.
FCA is looking for members and to join you don’t have to be an athlete or Christian. Anyone is welcome. If you have any questions about FCA contact Mr. Rief (dreif@usd116.org), Ms. Bond (tbond@usd116.org), or President Kayla Thrasher.
