Congratulations to Mrs. Hogan–Chan on the birth of her twins Christopher and Hayden over winter break. Mr. Tim Broeker will be taking over for her for the rest of this semester and next semester.
Mrs. Hogan-Chan won’t be back for awhile; she has a few health issuses and is not yet cleared to work. Her twins Christopher and Hayden are in the NICU and will come home around their initial due date which was February 14th. “I will miss my students and colleagues terribly while I am out; however, I am glad that my students will have Mr. Broeker,” said Mrs. Hogan-Chan.
Mr. Broeker is eager to take over for Mrs. Hogan–Chan. “I am super excited to have this opportunity and to spend another semester or so at UHS. It is a great school and I’m happy to be a temporary part of the UHS family,” said Mr. Broeker
In December Mr. Broeker graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Last semester, he student-taught in Mrs. Erlinger’s classroom. Mr. Broeker is a theater person. “I enjoy both working on shows as well as watching them from the audience,” he said. His other hobbies include traveling and photography. When Mr. Broeker was a senior in high school, he traveled to London for a few weeks and loved every minute of it. Mr. Broeker hopes to travel often, since being a teacher leaves the summers free.
“Mr. Broeker is a really cool teacher, he expects a lot from us but I’m sure we will learn a bunch,” said Junior Megan Houk |
