‘Tis the season to go shopping…the mall parking lot is packed and the stores are decked out for the holiday season. To help you with your Christmas consumerism, The Echo has compiled a gift-giving guide to aid you in your shopping pursuits. Happy holidays!

For the Sports Fan: If they’re into athletics, get your friend a hat from their favorite team or tickets to an Illini game. You could also purchase a yearly subscription to Sports Illustrated for year-round sports coverage.

For the Friend in Need of Pampering: Is your friend feeling overwhelmed with holiday stress? Treat them to a service at the BJ Grand Salon and Spa. You can purchase gift certificates for nail, hair, massage, body treatment, and facials at the salon to rejuvenate your friend for the new year!

For the Bookworm: Does your friend inhale books? Would they rather curl up with a good read than go to Friday night’s party? Give them a gift they’ll really love: a gift card to Barnes & Noble or Borders.

For the Musician: This friend loves to rock out to the latest jams and the local music scene. Buy your friend a cd from Exile on Main Street or an iTunes gift card. For a really unique gift (if you’re old enough), offer to take your friend to a show at the Canopy Club or the Highdive to check up on the local music talent.

For the Foodie: We’ve got plenty of places to enjoy great food in Champaign Urbana. Treat your friend to a night out dining at Jim Gould’s, Ko-Fusion, Jupiter’s or Milo’s for a special dining experience.
