Cross Country Team Takes Home Honors from Lanphier Invite
The Urbana High School Cross-Country team is off to a good start with the girls taking second at twin-city and losing to Centennial by three points. The team was lead by Senior Zita Hubler who finished in second place followed by Senior Marissa Marrone in fourth. This wasn’t exactly what the girls were hoping for, but they are ready to beat Centennial in the regional and sectional meet.
The boys’ team is doing well, and is glad to have Junior Glynn Davis back to running after being out of the first meets of the season. Also coming back is Junior Devon Carter coming off tendinitis in his knee. They are ready to come back strong and start to place in meets.
Last Saturday, the team competed at Springfield in the annual Lanphier invitational. Glynn Davis ran in the low 18:00’s, not bad after being out for the first meets. Zita Hubler and Freshmen Nicole Choquette placed in the top 25 receiving medals. Also earning a medal was Sophomore Brandon Carrel placing top 15 in JV.
In the next to last sentence it should be medals, not metals.
