Urbana High School Cross Country is hoping to have a strong season this year, despite losing a key teammates Glynn Davis and Megan Houk early on. Both teammates are out due to tendinitis. The boys’ team is hoping to make it to sectionals, while the girls’ team has set goals to go to state.

At their first meet in Mahomet, the girls’ team showed promise by taking first place.  The team’s fastest runner is Nicole Choquette, freshman.

Although it’s her first year on the team, Sophomore Emily Otnes says her favorite thing about being on the team is “feeling like I accomplished something when I finish a race or long run.”

The team’s most recent meet was on Saturday, September 5. The girls’ team came in second and was led by Nicole Choquette, who placed second.
