J. Cole

A new and upcoming artist from Fayetteville, California has really caught my eye. I am really feeling his music. He is the first artist to be signed to Jay-Z’s new label, Roc Nation. If you don’t already know who he is, I’ll tell you. His name is Jermain Cole, better known as J. Cole. You might have heard him featuring in Jay-Z’s track from The Blueprint 3 called A Star is Born. If you heard his 16 in that song and liked it, there is much more to come from and better. I highly recommend listening to his latest mixtape titled “The Warm Up.” It has some pretty ill lyricism and also just some tracks with good song structure with some catchy hooks like “Grown Simba”,”I Get Up”, and ” Lights Please.” I also enjoy his concepts and topics that he touches on like your average story about a kid that is trying to make it and stories about girls that he knew or has dated. We really get in to his mind from his lyrics. I also recommend checking out Wale song Beautiful Bliss. It is dope. J. Cole kills it in my opinion but it is also just a very enjoyable joint. Look out for his upcoming album. I’m not sure when it is going to be released but I’ll get back to you. So bottom line….don’t sleep on J.Cole. He got bars.
