Halloween Kindness
Good day, UHS! I’m so excited that Halloween is this week…I LOVE Halloween. Not so much the haunted houses or scary movies, but more so the costumes, candy and overall sense of fun-spookiness that surrounds the holiday. I’ve had some really cool Halloween experiences in my lifetime, and I thought I’d share one with you.
When I was younger, one of my neighboors was a school teacher at Yankee Ridge Elementary. Mrs. Green was though of as a really cool teacher (since I went to Thomas Paine, I never had her), and every Halloween, she invited her class over to her house for cupcakes. Mrs. Green would decorate these beautiful (yet creepy) homemade cupcakes and save them on her front table for all of her students (and my brother and I, yay) to enjoy. She didn’t have to spend all that extra time making dozens of intricate cupcakes, but she did. I always looked forward to going trick-or-treating to her house and getting my cupcakle. Not to mention the fact that she always had a wacky costume on to surprise trick-or-treaters. Way to go, Mrs. Green, for making Halloween even better.
What’s you favorite part about Halloween, UHS? Did you have Mrs. Green and go to her house to trick-or-treat? Share your story!
Have a happy Halloween!
I am so glad you let us know about your blog! I am a blog reader, maybe too much of one, but it’s fun to have a new one to read–especially an uplifting one! Being new in the community it is nice to get a taste of what the local schools are like. It’s also fun to remember my high school experience through your blog and others’. Have a great day, and thanks!
